Winter Solstice

Solstice of Winter the shortest day true.

Smack dab in the middle of the season of the Moon.

The marker, a start to a new season.

Moving forward into a new year with more reason.

Leaving behind parts unwanted but still known.

From a year prior in which we have grown.

To learn from the obstacles and even mistakes.

Knowing which parts to give and the ones to take.

Allowing ourselves to become and feel more whole.

In that moment of the year known as Dark Night of the Soul.

Making it through as holidays grow ever near.

During a time when people have more reason for cheer.

Resolute, reevaluate, and always continue on.

As time approaches another year soon to be gone.

Maintain all that you are and what you can be.

For that is your stamp, a footprint in human history.
