English Class

My 9th Grade Jr. High English teacher Mrs. Crain/Lewis (she married the year I took her class). She even asked to use my writing as an example. She made a transparent copy for the overhead projector. It was a poem I wrote. The next day it was the class assignment. I asked to remain anonymous.

She inspired me to write more because she instilled confidence in me about it. Prior to that I hid my writing from people. If it weren’t for her I wouldn’t have had my poetry accepted by a major museum. And honestly I probably wouldn’t be on here either.

Every once and a while a teacher will dramatically change your life. You’ll just never understand how much until further down the road.
